Step 1. Preparation before installing the strip light.

Make sure your LED strip light can work well before fixing it to walls or other surfaces. It is frustrating when you found the LED light doesn't work once you finished the installation.

Prepare all that you need to install your strip light. A smooth rag, your strip light, and a power adapter and power socket are the necessities. Sometimes, you may prepare a scissor when you have to cut the LED strip light.

Find a suitable socket and make sure your strip light's adapter can plug into the outlet.

Step 2. Wipe where you will install your strip light.

A clean surface will make the LED strip light's sticker fix firmly. Therefore, you ought to clean the wall, cabinet, ceiling, or other places that you plan to install strip lights.

Step 3. Cut the strip light if need.

Step 4. Connect the LED strip lights.

Insert the strip into the solderless connector if you cut the light strip. Tear off a little bit of 3M backing tape from the marked point. If the 3M tape is not peeled off, it will be harder to insert the strip into the connector. Finally, push the plastic lock back towards the middle into the lock position.

Step 5. Remove the adhesive backing and fix the strip light.

Ready-to-stick strip lights with strong 3M adhesive backing are available for installing on any dry and flat surface. Do not remove all the backing at once. It's better to remove the strip light's backing and mount it at the same time.

Step 6. Connect the strip light to the power supply.

Plug the power adapter of your strip light into the power source to light the LED light up. The installation finishes successfully when the strip light works. Then you could change the light color or brightness by its cord controller or remote controller.
